This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love reading about what is happening in the world around them and this will give them real-world exposure, which is not something they are exposed to every day. My students know about the world immediately around them, but not about what is beyond that in the big world surrounding them.

They love to see the world brought to life inside our classroom.

They love to ask questions and love to see pictures about the things we are learning about.

My Project

Everyday my kindergarten students are able to write about the letter of week as well as write about the texts we are reading. To be able to have them write in journals would be wonderful! The inclusion of journals shows their tremendous growth throughout the year and is extraordinary to show and share with their parents and families. It would be wonderful to have journals and crayons to add illustrations to use each day in our classroom! Having writing journals and crayons to illustrate in our kindergarten classroom would make a world of difference!

I would be able to share student growth with their parents and families in one journal rather than on loose-leaf lined paper.
