My Students

My students are caring, young scientists that are eager to learn. We are a K-5 science and technology school in an urban neighborhood. Our goal is to foster a love of learning and provide high quality, hands-on educational experiences.

We love to use our computer labs to design, create, and problem solve while working to understand the world around us.

Our youngest learners would like to be introduced to computer science and coding this year!

My Project

How should our youngest students learn about computer science? Through hands-on exploration! These requested Botley robots will provide our Kindergarteners with the tools needed for age appropriate exploration. We cannot wait to see our computer science program grow!

This donation will allow our youngest coding students bring computer science to life.

These robots will help teach the basics of computer science without a screen. Our young learners will be able to program Botley with multiple steps, loops, and even if/then commands. While learning these computer science skills, our students will also become creative problem solvers while working as part of a team.

We would love our Kindergarteners to be introduced to coding without using a screen. We will use Botley to teach our young coders step-by-step problem solving. We will also reinforce skills they have learned throughout the year including counting, directions, and persistence. While using Botley, our students will be able to use looping commands. They will also program it to move through an obstacle course and around objects.
