This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kindergarten class is made up of an incredible group of students that inspire and amaze me every day. I teach at a Title I school in a low income, high poverty school district. Our school is 100% free breakfast and lunch. A large portion of our student population comes from low-income households. Despite the challenges, my kids come to school eager and ready to learn!

We are a STEM school where we integrate Science, Technology, Engineering and Math through project-based learning activities for our students.

This population has been significantly impacted by Covid and subsequent school closures making the learning gap even larger. I would like to purchase some individual learning items for my students to help them learn at their individual learning levels.

My Project

These materials will be used in my classroom to help with some of the anxiety and stress my kiddos are feeling. Having access to sensory items and being able to take a break when they need to is crucial. Giving them ways to understand their social emotional learning is just as important, if not more than, the academics.

By donating to this project, you will help my class learn how to use different techniques to calm their minds and bodies during this unusual year.

Plus, they really want a microscope!
