This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Hello everyone and thank you for taking the time to look at my project. I am a second-year teacher teaching Kinder for the first time. I work at a Title I school and serve a diverse community. For many of my students, this will be their first experience in school. By setting a strong foundation of school being a fun and welcoming place, we help foster their love for learning and school. I strongly believe that school should be a place for fun and learning. Learning is not all worksheets and pencil to paper. Children in this age group learn so much through play and hands-on experiences.
I believe that a kindergarten classroom should have space for play and exploration.
If I put 12 desks in my class for 24 students, that takes away most of the space in my classroom. By funding the Flex-Space, I can get rid of most desks, leave my teacher's table for small group instruction and have the rest of my class be an open space for students to learn through play with various STEAM activities.
Again, thank you for looking at my project and helping me make my kinder classroom a place that allows for learning through play, exploration, and hands-on activities.
