My Project

Bullying has become a major issue in today's society. It seems it is starting earlier and earlier than it ever has in the past. My second graders have noticed this issue in our school and community, but do not always know what to do when they see it happening. They are kind and compassionate students who want to fight the issue of bullying at our school and in our local community!

I would love to provide my students with books about kindness and inclusion to raise awareness and teach compassion inside and outside of our classroom.

I would like to teach my students how to see the world through others' eyes and encourage my students to stand up against bullying when they see it through the use of various read alouds! I would like to use these materials so my students can read about kindness and compassion and how they can show kindness and compassion at school and in the community. I would also like them to make sure they know how to show kindness and be a good friend to those in need. They will learn not only how to be a friend, but how to help people feel better.

I would love to give students special recognition and showcase their acts of kindness and compassion in the classroom and to parents through notes and a classroom display.
