This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students LOVE drawing books. Whenever they finish a project and have some extra time they run for the drawing books. I only have a few drawing books and would love to get them some more. This way they have more options and can continue to learn how to draw new things.

I have also found that the drawing books are a great resource for students who often feel or say "I can't draw".

It gives them a bit of extra support that they need to succeed!

My Project

My students LOVE drawing books! However, I only have a few. They are eager to learn how to draw new things, and drawing books really help support their passion. Although my students love to draw, they can sometime feel overwhelmed by the thought "I don't know how to draw". The drawing books are a great tool to help students turn that thought into "I don't know how to draw this yet..." and develop a growth mindset.

The drawing books will be used as part of my independent art stations.

During stations students get to explore a type of art they would like to experiment with for the day. The drawing station has become one of my most popular stations, and I would be so excited to give them new art books and expand this interest.
