My Students

Our class consists of sweet, creative, and active 6 and 7-year-old students who come to school excited about learning. My first graders love to move around and love it when a wide variety of technology is incorporated into their daily instruction.

Each day I strive to make learning rigorous yet captivating in a positive learning environment.

I love the enthusiasm first graders bring to school and hope to create lifelong learners who have only positive memories from their school days.

Hands-on learning is becoming more and more important in the classroom. It’s one thing to be able to read and write about what you are learning. It’s another thing to be able to apply it.

Hurricane Michael has left a lasting impression on our community. My sweet first graders have been through so much over the past 2 years. After finally gaining some positive momentum from our Hurricane Michael recovery, we are now facing a COVID setback.

My Project

Scholastic News has been helping students connect what they're learning to real life events in the classroom everyday. And with the help of your donation, I would love to bring this opportunity to my students this year. An updated subscription to Scholastic News and Science Spin will provide my students with short, non-fiction text in a variety of subject areas like Science, Social Science and Literacy.

In addition, these Scholastic News and Science Spin magazines will enable them to not only read enriched text, but it will also allow them to highlight, write and take notes within the magazine itself.

With your generous donation towards our class project, I know these magazines will make a huge difference in their learning. It will allow me to plan more engaging lessons so that my students can master their reading standards and be well prepared for the following school year.

Lastly, not many know that with a subscription to Scholastic News and Science Spin, it also provides access to their online component. Their online resources are amazing and fits well to what we are learning in our classroom. Without a doubt, Scholastic Magazines, Science Spin, and their online component will be extremely beneficial in our classroom.
