My music students are over the moon about their new keyboards, so I am requesting more for my classroom. With this many keyboards, very few will need to share. We also need batteries because the first set we had donated did not include power cords.
Learning to play the keyboard will reinforce the four anchor standards of the National Core Art Standards: Performing, Creating, Connecting, and Responding!
I am teaching them to read music, perform songs, respond in collaborative groups, and make connections to technology through small keyboard synthesizers.
As I teach culturally responsively, the diversity kit will expand their understanding of the world.
