My Students
My first-grade students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. With a wave of our magic pencils and everyone saying "Hocus pocus, we need to focus!" We are off on a new adventure and learning!
I teach at a highly impoverished, urban school in Paterson, New Jersey where all of the students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Despite so many hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn all they can so they can be successful one day.
My Project
All students deserve to come to school and learn in a clean, healthy and safe learning environment. Unfortunately, the pandemic has brought to light the fact that so many schools are in disrepair due to age and in dire need of modern upgrades to HVAC systems, electrical wiring, windows, etc.
My entire inner-city school district has been remote since March 2020 and we will be going back into our classrooms for the first time since then in September.
I would like to say that many upgrades have been completed and that the schools are well-prepared for the children, but sadly, they are not.
My first graders need a TOSOT Air Purifier with H13 Medical Grade True HEPA Filter and replacement filters in our classroom to provide clean, fresh air to breathe so we can concentrate on learning, not worrying about the germs and contaminants in the air that might make us sick.
