Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our school is the oldest school in our district. The school is a beloved landmark and K-8 school to my 4th grade students and families.
All students in my class love learning, but the range of learning levels have greatly increased over the past year and a half due to distance learning and COVID restrictions in the classroom.
The methods needed to ensure growth for each student greatly varies. To meet each students needs we must incorporate many learning strategies, group work, manipulatives, games, and alternative seating options to enhance learning.
My Project
The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them learning manipulatives and games to support math and ELA, plus different seating options.
The math games and manipulatives will support 4.NBT.A1-2 place value, 4NBT.B.4 add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers, multiplication , division, and fractions.
In ELA, the informational task cards and foundational reading games will support students at multiple levels.
Students will also be more engaged and less distracted by their peers with the opportunity to use different seating options. The seating allows for students work in a space that best works with their learning style.
