Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are English language learners who are filled with questions about the world around them. They love learning new things, they come ready to learn about their communities and everything that surrounds them. They enjoy the classroom as it is a place that feels safe and joy filled. All students come from immigrant parents, who struggle helping children outside of the classroom due to the lack of resources and supplies.
I have students with special education needs, who lack the necessary resources to excel academically.
Families often struggle to find employment and opportunity due to the language differences and academic levels.
All the students in my classroom love coming to school everyday. Although we lack many resources we incorporate different learning strategies. They benefit from having two certified teachers which allows us to work in small groups, differentiated activities, and at times one to one intervention. I am very lucky to be an active member in my students life. I hope to help them to become active participants in their communities.
My Project
The materials that I am requesting for my students will help them in developing their academic goals in all content areas. We just need your help in getting it to their hands! TeachersPayTeachers will be used to purchase fun activities to help them in these difficult times where they divide their learning experiences both in school and at home. The digital resources will provide great tools for my English language learners as well as well as my students with special needs. The materials will specifically help me bridge the academic demands in their native language of Spanish. TeachersPayTeachers has many resources already translated in Spanish.
The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding across content areas by bridging their native language of Spanish to the new language of English.
We will use these materials to aide us in the process of becoming life-long learners. The resources I can purchase will engage my students in new and hands on ways.
