My students love to read magazines! Students who are not usually motivated during reader's workshop, will have great enthusiasm for articles found in a magazine. Something about those glossy pages really lures my lower readers in. The more exposure a child has to the written word (in any form) the better they become at decoding and comprehending all text. I teach a 4th and 5th grade multiage class. There are 25 students and we are a humanities magnet school. By funding this proposal you will allow my students to read different magazines each month throughout the school year!! This certainly will increase student motivation to read! I truly appreciate your consideration of this proposal!
