Help me give my students watercolors, glue, brushes, and other supplies for class time which they can then take home and add to their at-home Studio kits.
I have the most creative and amazingly talented students. They are a diverse group from varied economic backgrounds. They also have a wide array of knowledge and learning styles.
In the past few years, I have altered my teaching philosophy to a Teaching for Artistic Behavior (TAB) classroom in an effort to encourage more student independence and problem-solving.
It also allows all students the ability to pursue art in a way that is most interesting to each of them. Not being able to share or reuse supplies and having most of the students' Art time spent working remotely has made this all very difficult.
My Project
I am working hard to create lessons that start at school with supplies kits for painting and collage that are then taken home so students can continue their work during remote Art days.
Since returning to school, Art is on a cart with only three or four in-person classes per term.
The rest of students' art time is guided at home. Paints, brushes and other tools can not be reused and shared by my students, so I am working to be sure all my students have what they need with take home kits that have what they need to complete their remote work.
