This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are motivated and driven, dreaming of amazing futures and hoping their perseverance pays off.

They are a wonderful group of diverse young people in need of basic resources to help them succeed.

They come to school hungry, cold and tired, dressed in hand-me-downs, and trying so hard to maintain the illusion that they are just like their peers...but they aren't. Some come from challenging backgrounds and neighborhoods; they struggle just to make it to school, much less concentrate on acquiring the knowledge needed to succeed into adulthood. We have just recently had our status and budget reflect our student body's diverse requirements but have a long way to go.

Many of our families do not have access to some of the basic amenities that most of us take for granted and would greatly benefit from your help. Thank you so much for anything you are able to give to improve the lives of our kids.

My Project

Every year, my colleagues and I host a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs designed to give students the opportunity to delve into subjects, activities, and interests that are more passion than profession.

As a former cake artist, my clubs always incorporated edible art; through this project, your generosity would give my students the tools to learn and practice decorating skills at home with their very own set!

Since we are distance learning, we are unable to access the classroom equipment I usually use for this club. I would love to be able to give students the same opportunities at home, that I am usually able to provide in person.
