This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in the Edgewood, Kirkwood, and East Lake communities in Atlanta. This neighborhood is changing quickly. Our school serves students in pre-k through the fifth grade. Many of our students' families struggle financially, but our families are very involved and know most teachers and other students by name.
I love my school.
Our staff is a family; our students are bright, inquisitive, and deserve every opportunity to learn and grow. Thanks for stopping at my page, and I hope you will help.
My Project
Our classroom needs a kidney table for classroom instruction. Our students learn best in small groups, with a low student-to-teacher ratio. A kidney table in our classroom would allow us to have a teacher table in our classroom without taking up excess space. The white-board top would allow kids to practice their work as they learn without having to have extra tools in their way. This table would help my students experience their learning and have an environment that allows them to focus on learning. The kidney table would allow me as a teacher to easily see all my students work in a quick, efficient manner, allowing me to accelerate the understanding of all my students.
