Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are ELL students who are acquiring the English language. We are in a Title I school where more than half of the students come from low-income households. They come from diverse cultures as well. They need bright and cheerful carpet spots to gather and listen to fabulous stories, have collaborative conversations and engage in literacy activities.
They love to use their imaginations as they listen to and read stories.
They will also use the carpet spots while engaging in student-centered cooperative learning activities.
My Project
These rug spots will make a difference in my students' learning. My students enjoy listening to stories, participating in collaborative conversations in pairs and in groups. They also love to engage in Literacy activities.
These rug spots are quite versatile.
Individual students can use them, pairs of students, or groups of students. They can also gather in various areas of the classroom. The cute "Into the Sea" rug spots will allow for additional comfortable floor seating options. They are lightweight and can be easily used in many areas of the classroom.
I have seen how choice can positively affect my students' work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
