My Students
My students live in a high poverty area. With the decline of coal, a lot of families' incomes have decreased in the past few years. As a district, we have high expectations of our students, and we expect success in and out of the classroom. Our mission is to prepare our students for the next step in life.
Although our students come from a low-income district, and they deserve the best of the best.
We make the best with what we have to make sure our students have a great experience.
My Project
My students are from a low economic area of Rural Eastern Kentucky. We do not have the funds we need to keep an up to date marching band program going. Our marching shoes are 20 years old and falling apart.
We need new marching shoes to keep students able to compete.
These shoes will belong to the school and not the student. We will use them at all of our marching band contests that we attend. The looks of the uniforms makes a huge difference in the eyes of the judges. They look at what you are wearing if the see old worn out gear it puts a bad image in their heads. These new shoes will start to change that image and give us a better chance of success. Thank you for your time and consideration.
