Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students walk into a classroom that is warm and welcoming each day. We as a group make an environment that lets us all of us grow, make mistakes, and learn. I love watching my students grow and become positive people in their community.

My class and I came up with a moto " Our class runs on knowledge, kindness, and smiles." We show this each day in our classroom.

Our class is diverse in so many ways. I would not change my students for the world.

I teach at an inner city school in the Worcester Public Schools District. Our entire school receives free breakfast and lunch. We have children who live in a high poverty area and who are also English language learners. Despite their hardships, they come to school everyday to learn with beautiful smiles on their faces.

My Project

Many of my students come from low income families who struggle with providing the extra at the beginning of the school year. It is imperative that students have what they need as soon as school starts. Establishing routines and and purposes for things like, binders, folders, math programs that use expo markers, makes for a year of success. I want them to be able have access to crayons and color pencils without needing to worry if their families can provide them.

I want my kids to be prepared as possible before they dig in the the curriculum that is very strenuous in third grade!

I want them to be ready to learn and not have the anxiety of not having what they need to hold them back. The items posted in this project, like the box of crayons, box of color pencils, folders, expo markers, binders, and notebooks are imperative tools for their learning. These are items that may seem small but in a classroom they are the essentials we need to keep everyday school life running smoothly.
