This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The community that I serve as an educator can be very tough. The students are at over 90% on free or reduced lunch and many of them come from a very hard and tough background. However, they never let that deter them from learning and achieving. They are inquisitive, intelligent, kind and hardworking. They are absolutely are amazing.
I am currently teaching 2nd grade and have been blessed with the opportunity to teach 3rd grade ELAR in the upcoming school year.
This means I will have the opportunity to teach the students that I am currently serving, and I am beyond ecstatic!
My Project
As a ELA teacher and a first year third grade teacher I am excited to create an environment where my students are unafraid to ask questions and make mistakes. I will create a classroom where students can learn from one another through opportunities of student-led instruction and collaboration. I intend to use the easel for centers so that students can transfer what they learned and engage with one another. I also intend on using the mailboxes so that my students can keep organized and responsible for their work. I intend on creating a writing rich classroom, and the writing paper will help me do just that. Please make my dream of having the best school year ever come true!
