Mrs. Justus Hewitt from Cleveland OH is requesting sports & exercise equipment through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students some outdoor sports equipment to practice their gross motor skills! We need kickballs so that the students can organize and play games of kickball and footballs for throwing too!

My students come from a neighborhood of severe poverty and hardship. They come to school with a smile every day in spite of some of the hardships they are facing at home. They are ready to learn and engage in activities.
We have some very special and fragile children at our school.
While we deal with some intense emotional and behavioral issues, we have so many moments of happiness and laughter with these students that I hope we are making a difference in their lives. Our staff is one of a kind. Our teachers work so hard to get through to these kids and do whatever it takes to help them come closer to success.
I want my students to have the same opportunities as all children, and while a lot of my kids have not been read to much in their first years, this listening center can provide them with a read-aloud while I work intensely with small groups of students on developing fundamental literacy skills.
This project is for kickballs and footballs for outdoor and gym recess time. My students love playing games of kickball and love tossing the football but unfortunately, we are lacking in those supplies at my school. These balls will be kept specifically in our classroom in a special container and we will take them out to the playground for recess to get the kids moving as well as developing good sportsmanship and learning the fundamentals of sports.
Kindergarten students need gross motor skills practice on a daily basis and learning these skills is a pivotal part of being successful in kindergarten as well as providing fun playing games!
