My Students

Our school is located in East Prairie, Missouri (a small town in the southeast part of the state). Introducing students to music and the arts is a high priority in our curriculum.

My students range from those very musically active to those being introduced to music for the first time.

Being exposed to various forms of music allows them to gain insight on their personal musical interests.

This project will allow students the opportunity to explore music in a new way. It will allow them to gain insight on styles of music, composers, and the basic fundamentals of piano playing.

My Project

I am beyond excited that starting this year because I hope that my High School students will have the opportunity to learn music a new way-by learning to play the piano. I will develop a self-paced class that will teach students the basic skills of how to play the piano and will offer another Fine Arts opportunity to our students.

My students need a piano keyboard that will allow them to be introduced to the skills of piano playing and gain a new appreciation for the arts.

My students will be using Alfred's Adult Piano Course to learn musical technique and selections on the piano keyboard.

It is my goal that over time we can supply matching 88-key electronic keyboards for the class so that all students are learning to play on the same type of keyboard.
