Keys to Creativity: Orff Xylophones for Young Musicians

My Project

My students constantly amaze me with their adventurous nature in exploring music. They are excited to participate in learning new music and new ways to perform. While listening and singing music is essential, using instruments allows them to experience music in another way.

I want to encourage my students’ adventurous nature and nurture their excitement for learning new ways to make music.

I purchased some glockenspiels myself this past year, and they LOVED learning to play them. However, my classes are typically 20-25 students and the students’ time on 2 instruments was VERY limited even with them doubling up.

I want to encourage the joy and excitement they had by providing more opportunities for them to explore playing instruments. This project will start us in the right direction by providing additional instruments and mallets so more students can use them. The stands will not only help with storing the xylophones, but by adjusting them so that they can play the instruments at an appropriate height and with proper technique.

Funding this project will help me provide my students with more exposure to instruments and more opportunities to make music.
