My Students

My school is a wonderful place for kids where we envision our students to be self-directed learners, caring citizens and positive world changers. We have a supportive community of parents, administrators and teachers where we have a strong positive and caring culture.

Each of the 130 students in third grade have unique abilities and learning styles.

They come from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, each bringing something exceptional to our third grade classrooms. Our project will allow us to differentiate learning so that every student has what he/she needs to be successful learners using technology.

My Project

We all know that today almost everything is moving towards being skillful in using technology. In third grade, at Rocky Creek Elementary, we give students many opportunities throughout the day to work with various forms of technology. They use it to publish writing, to do group research, to post their learning, to create projects. We have iPads in our classroom, but because they do not have keyboards, it makes it difficult for the children to use proper typing techniques when they are creating documents. My students needs keyboards for our iPads so they can become fluent with their typing. This will allow them to be successful when creating work that will be published.
