it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
GAP students are fired up to learn! They are excited to have new iPads donated to our program this year and are now in need of keyboards for their writing projects. Your help can make the difference in our students' educational experience!
I teach in a Title I school that is located in a rural community.
Our school serves the educational needs of over 650 students in grades K-6. GAP is new a program this year and consists of 128 4th-6th grade students. They have high achievement scores and are highly motivated to dig in and learn to be life long learners.
My Project
We are using technology in a variety of ways to help guide the students on a journey of being life-long learners. In my ELA class, note-taking and writing extended response answers, involve a great deal of typing, which would be expedited with the use of keyboards. My vision for these thirteen keyboards is to provide them as an option for the students who have the greatest difficulties, thus the greatest need, of having a keyboard to assist them with their word processing.
Some of my students have limited access to computers at home.
Entering information on the iPad is a learning process. The process of using the keyboard on their device is slow and awkward for many. The external keyboards will help alleviate the frustrations of my students and improve their word processing skills at a faster rate.
