This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a community of learners dedicated to academic excellence. While our elementary school is located in an inner city, poverty-stricken neighborhood, with a high rate of crime and devoid of many resources, this has not deterred our hard-working students from attaining academic excellence. They are determined to succeed.

My twenty-five sixth-grade students are motivated by constant reminders that education is their key to success, not just at school, but at home and within their community.

They have the abilities and potentials to be successful in their future educational careers - and in life. Their current circumstances do not define nor determine who they can be, or what they can achieve!

Our students are grateful for all help!

My Project

Recently we were the very fortunate recipients of an Apple Inc. grant. Our students can now produce school assignments on iPads, which have provided them great inspiration and are conduits of technology for our now twenty-first century learners. We are, however, lacking keyboards for our iPads.

In order to progress as proficient and advanced writers, we are in desperate need of iPad keyboards!

Our students are grateful learners; they do not take for granted this wonderful gift of technology, and are equally appreciative if we hand them a pencil. Before me sits budding authors and researchers and scientists and teachers. The keyboards will help them utilize these mini-computers and reach their lofty goals. Thank you, kindly in advance!
