Keyboards for Kids

My students need 4 keyboards, 2 battery chargers, 16 AAA batteries and a Nikon digital camera.

I teach music to students in grades K-5 at an expeditionary learning school in Maine. We have very diverse population with a 75% volume of free and reduced lunch.

I recently wrote a Donors Choose proposal and received 5 keyboards because a few of my 5th grade boys wanted to learn how to play. I started a program to teach keyboard and it was such a success that more students want to learn. In addition, my regular music classes love to use them but are forced to share so their time to learn is limited.

I am requesting 4 additional keyboards, 2 battery charges and 4 4pks of rechargeable batteries, and a digital camera to keep track of students progress. These items will enable me to teach more students at the same time and allow them to have more time to learn.

Your generosity will allow me to expand this popular part of our music program to allow more students to participate and get excited about their learning. We are a very low-income district with no extra funding available so your help will make all the difference
