This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are starting a band.

Our music class draws from a diverse set of musical backgrounds--hip hop, cumbia, funk, afrobeat, blues, jazz, salsa, pop and more.

Students in the music class learn not only music but also the history and culture that their music comes from.

We are in need of keyboard stands and extension cords to plug our instruments into! We are also in need of keyboard benches. These add an air of importance to the music room and help students play with proper posture, ensuring better long term health for our musicians!

By donating to this project, you are helping a title 1 school where most of the stduents are on free and reduced lunch. I have taught at this school for 5 years and plan to stay here for a long time, so these keyboards will benefit many generations of students.
