This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Imagine going to the keyboard only to discover the batteries have died... again. The keyboard is so antiquated we do not have an AC adapter.

We are a title 1 school serving a diverse student population.

For many this is their only exposure to music other than the radio. We would like to have a chorus next year and need a keyboard, as we do not currently have a piano or adequate keyboard to provide the accompaniment.

My Project

From teaching parts, accompanying the students, teaching theory, to students exploring and creating music the possibilities that a keyboard presents are endless. As we prepare for our talent show I have to remind the piano players that all I have is a little keyboard. It does not even have the ability to be amplified. I am also requesting a stand for the keyboard as right now ours is balanced on crates.

A keyboard or piano is the basic in any traditional music class.

I believe my students deserve to have access to an adequate keyboard as well. A keyboard can last many years without any maintenance. Thousands of students can potentially be affected by your donation to our music program.
