My students need a portable keyboard, a keyboard stand, and a warranty replacement plan for the keyboard.

My Students

My school is starting a music residency with a teaching artist for musicians for the first time. The students are eager, but we currently do not have any musical instruments at the school. This keyboard would be a start.

My students attend a Title I high school in East Harlem.

They are very hard-working and love challenges. This music residency was started by a junior student who saw a need for music in the school. He ran that as his platform to be elected into Student Council. With his direction this residency is taking shape.

My Project

The keyboard would be kept at school where students would be able to use it during the residency and practice on it before school, during lunch, or after school. The students would not have to carry their own keyboards back and forth to and from school on the bus or subway.

This keyboard will be utilized first and foremost for the music residency, but the after school choir and students that perform in the annual Talent Show would also be able to utilize this keyboard.
