My Project

For this project, I plan to paint these clear keyboard covers to "black them out" as a way to incentivize learning to type correctly. Currently, many students use the hunt-and-peck method and lack the necessary keyboard knowledge to be effective writers. Integrating Chromebook keyboard covers into our 8th-grade writing class will address significant gaps in knowledge exacerbated by the long-term effects of remote learning. By bridging this gap in technological literacy, I aim to empower my students to communicate fluently in a digital age.

My goal for this project is to equip students with the necessary skills to navigate the digital landscape effectively, even in the aftermath of prolonged remote learning.

Beyond enhancing typing proficiency, I want to create a sense of comfort and mastery in utilizing technology for academic and personal expression. With Chromebook keyboard covers, I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students can engage with writing tasks with ease and efficiency. Ultimately, I want to foster lifelong learners who are adept at using technology as a tool for communication and self-expression.

What makes our students special is their resilience and eagerness to learn despite the challenges they face. The long-term effects of remote learning have presented obstacles, but, our students have shown remarkable adaptability and determination. By supporting my project, you will not only provide tangible resources, but, also affirm our students' worth and potential. Together, we can empower them to thrive in an increasingly digital world, where proficient typing skills are essential for success.
