Years ago, our district purchased piano keyboard lab from the Yamaha Music Corporation. The Music in Education System is no longer sold; however, we have enough keyboards that are still in working order that we could set up a keyboard lab for our General Music classroom. Tables are needed to hold each of these keyboards.
Most of the students in my school cannot afford private lessons; however, as their teacher, I have taught private lessons for years, and I am certain I can create a sequential program to teach ALL of my students keyboard basics in their weekly music classes via a classroom piano lab.
I received training by the Yamaha Corporation to use their MIE Music in Education System years ago while teaching in Idaho. My South Carolina students love their weekly music class, and they deserve to have the opportunity to learn to read music and perform at these keyboards! Research has proven that consistent music study helps to raise test scores in many academic areas of learning.
Music is also a subject that greatly enhances social and emotional learning, something that is sorely needed for the students at my Title I school. Your donation would bring great joy to each and every student in grades Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade. My training will allow me to develop a curriculum that will provide age-appropriate, sequential musical growth. Thank you in advance for your support!
