My Students
We are a Title I, universal free breakfast and lunch district. We have approximately 1400 students in our district, and about 800 of those are in our elementary building. Our population is very diverse, and most students are from low SES homes.
They are budding scholars, creators, inventors, musicians, athletes, entrepreneurs, and artists.
Really, the sky is the limit with these kids. They are blank slates with their whole lives in front of them, and I am privileged to work with them every day! My students are extraordinary!
My Project
For the past year, I have been working on building the technology equipment available to my music classes. We now have iPads, Sphero Specdrums, some Osmo kits, and a few coding robots. These will be AMAZING tools to help us apply the skills my students have learned in computer class this year to real-life musical problems they can solve with the content we study in my classroom.
IPad keyboards will make coding and other activities much more accessible.
These keyboards have trackpads, which will help with various click and drag programs, such as Scratch. We will be working on many STEAM challenges next year, and these keyboards will come in VERY handy!
