Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a self-contained classroom of students who never fail to make me smile. They challenge me to come up with new ways to deliver curriculum and inspire me to take a moment just to breathe. They have pushed me to become a better teacher with each passing day.

Even though change is sometimes hard for my students to understand and accept, they are persevering through the many changes COVID has brought.

Society might try to write my students off because of their disabilities, but that doesn't stop them from doing their very best and proving just how capable they are.

My Project

When students are cold, they aren't focused on learning. When they are hungry, they aren't focused on learning. Staying warm and full helps fulfill their needs and makes sure they feel secure and safe at school. Food and warmth helps keep all bodies well, and well students can afford to focus on learning.

Jackets and socks will help keep kids warm and dry during the winter months, and the snacks included in this project will keep their tummies full.

School should be a place where kids feel safe and secure and all of the items here are intended to ensure these feelings for my kids.
