My Project
I am asking for three large shelving rack to hold student's math games and manipulative, and IB unit supplies. It will also provide my students easier access to all of our classroom as it is a wire cart on wheels. The top shelves will hold upcoming materials and I will be able to rotate the materials based on what what we are working on and what we need. Right now, most math games are stored in drawer or tubs that my students can't access themselves. This means that any activity requires me to spend valuable time retrieving materials before children can get started. It also limits children who finish their work early or find they need tools to support their work. For our IB materials, they are currently scattered around different surfaces of the room and are constantly being moved as we have limited space. Rather than simply grabbing what they need, they are stuck using what they have to complete or extend their learning.
These shelves will let me place more materials out where students can get what they need when they need it.
In this way, students will take more responsibility for their learning and develop independence as learners.
