We are in a diverse small community with a very small elementary school. Our school is a Title 1 school with many families struggling to make ends meet. Most of our grades have one class for each grade and we also have a couple of grade level combination classes due to enrollment. The students have an appreciation for learning and want access to the proper education they deserve through supportive and engaging materials in the classroom.
As teachers, we work hard to make sure we have what they need in the classroom and to promote our students' education and future.
These students have a desire to learn and want the best education they can have. Every student deserves to be offered the best education possible in our schools so they can be successful in the future.
These magazines will allow students access to current events with a global view on their reading level. These magazines also help address many of the standards while giving students more access to nonfiction topics. Each week students will have a new magazine with new topics to read about and discuss in class. This magazine will also allow us to use it in whole group, small groups, and use think pair share with what we have read. Students will enjoy looking at the colorful pictures while reading materials that are on their reading level. We will also be able to do some follow up activities from these topics.
