This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We love technology! We want to have another Kindle to use for science related research and math skills practice with various apps.
My classroom is filled with motivated learners who are often seeking enrichment opportunities.
They often want more information than the science text can provide. They have enjoyed using the Kindles to do various projects, and would like to have more access to them among the high number of students.
My Project
My students will use this technology for project based learning activities, such as a weather forecasting project. Having another Kindle will help to lower the amount of students needing to share, creating smaller collaborative grouping opportunities.
They will also use them to review math skills by using educational games and apps. This has been motivating to my struggling students, as flash cards can become quite boring.
Having technology available to my students is a high priority, knowing the motivation it provides for both extensions to the curriculum, as well as the necessary review opportunities.
Our entire grade level has been greatly impacted by the integration of Kindles in our classes.
