Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our class is beautifully composed of 25 Kindergarten students. This magical group is eager to learn and demonstrate their growth in new and creative ways! They range from five to six-years-old, and are such a positive and bright bunch!
These students are just beginning the adventure of school, and are so excited to participate in the journey of learning!
With help, our class will have every opportunity to have fun while we learn! I desire for my students to develop a joy and thirst for learning, that will continue throughout their academic careers.
My Project
My students use their Chromebooks daily, but have difficulty hearing the in-program instructions, as their Chromebooks are hand-me-downs from other upper elementary classrooms. With headphones, all of my students will be able to succeed in their digital lessons. These lessons compose about 20 minutes of our day, and take the form of one math "game" and one language arts "game." The "games" focus on number recognition and counting, addition, subtraction, letter recognition, letter sounds, blending, and reading.
All of my students would benefit greatly from the wobble chairs!
At the age of five (and at any age, really) it is difficult to sit still for longer periods of time. I try my best to allow my class opportunity to move as much as possible during our school day. With the wobble chairs, students would be able to earn the opportunity to experience a little "wiggle" in their normal class seat!
