Keeping Up with Kiddos

Help me give my students a classroom that is fully prepared to assist in their learning development.

My Students

Currently, I oversee twenty young four and five year olds students.

Each student is unique in their own way, meaning their abilities vary and are mind-blowing. Students show natural abilities as well as learned capabilities. The majority of the students can solve simple math equations, sound out short and sight words. Students can identify sight words in short stories.

Other students can recall first and last names, ages as well as birthdays. Students complete morning work every morning which consists of writing and spelling sight words, printing first and last names, scavenger hunts that includes finding specific numbers, letters, colors, shapes, etc.

Each child is warm and always eager to learn. Our classroom is welcoming and engaging. Myself and the children have countless positive interactions in small group settings, whole group setting and one-on-one.

My Project

The aim is always to assist and support the needs of children throughout their academic career, therefore tools will be needed. Literacy plays a vital role in the developmental process as well as mathematical skills.

Some students are visual learners which means, tools should be implemented therefore students can reach a better/deeper understanding of what is taking place while they're learning.

These materials will grasp some students' attention which then proceed in them taking an interest on the new material that is being taught. The number line will assist students who may be struggling with number recognition, or simple assist those who may need refreshers. Sentence strips will be used throughout lessons to assist students with their writing skills. The alphabet cards/chart will be used as additional resources for students, letter games will be implemented therefore students can become familiar with letter as well as letter sounds. The birthday crowns will be given to each student upon their birthday to make each student feel special. Birthday will be celebrated in my class to display the importance of their milestones.

These items selected will be used daily in the classroom setting. Items will not be used for learning from home.
