Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The library is a special place at my campus. It's a place where kids come and play board games, build circuits, construct Lego masterpieces, shoot marbles down their own plastic roller coasters- and of course, it's a place they come to find amazing books, great stories and new ways to view the world. It's the best room in the building. No disrespect to the PE teacher or the Cafeteria Manager, but I really believe the kids on my campus love the library the most. It's a conscious choice to keep the interactive things in the library, and it's something I take seriously. From time to time, though, we need to refresh the supply of games, learning toys, activities and other attractions in the library.
Things wear out, and when they're gone, my kids may revert to having their noses in their cellphones again- I can't have that!
Help me keep the joy, the learning, the communication, the collaboration, the teamwork and the fun in the library. Help me give my students a great reason to cut down the screentime and spend a little more time with productive play.
