it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We have had classroom guinea pigs for a couple of years now. Thanks to previous generous donors on this very site, we were able to get the supplies we need to get them in the classroom. They have been a staple in the classroom during this time. I didn't know that Covid was about to happen when I got them, but I had apparently gotten them just in time. They became the relief my students needed in a very stressful time.
Today, the guinea pigs are a source of comedic, social, and emotional relief.
They are a breath of fresh air and students from all over the school come by to say hi to them. Over time, their bedding has worn down due to washing and wear and tear. We are asking for some new bedding, enough to last the guineas a few years, and a handheld vacuum to make cleaning up their little nuggets they drop everywhere easier and more sanitary.
They are a part of our family, and we would love to keep them in the classroom as long as possible.
