My Project
In our classroom, we strive to create a supportive and inclusive environment for our post-high students with disabilities. One of the ways we aim to do this is by creating a 'Calming Corner' - a dedicated space within the classroom designed to help students manage stress, take a breather, and refocus their energy.
Some of the items I am most excited about are the weighted lap blanket, bubble timers, noise machine, weighted shoulder pad, and fidgets.
These items will be a big hit with the students.
Students will use all items from this donation to self monitor their emotions in a safe and caring environment. The calm down area of the classroom will be this safe place.
Our students often face unique challenges and stressors that can interfere with their learning. The Calming Corner is designed to be a safe space where students can take a moment for themselves, use coping strategies, and return to their work feeling calmer and more focused.
To make this project a reality, we need the resources from this donations like comfortable seating, sensory tools, calming lights, and sound machines - items that create a serene and stress-free environment. Your generous donation will not only help us set up this space but also demonstrate to our students that there are people who care about their well-being and success.
