My school is a Title-I charter school, and our mission is to reach out to the at-risk community of our city.
I have had students tell me this year that Art is the one thing they look forward to each day. For many students, it is what keeps them from dropping out of school. The problem is, our school does not have funding to continue the Art program. In order to keep it alive we need help from individuals who know how important the arts can be.
In order for this to happen, we are looking for people to help out. Even the smallest contribution can make a big difference. We need a wide range of supplies - from pencils to ceramic glazes - so every donation can help!
Our school's goal is to transform the lives of students. Our desire is for students to have a way to express themselves creatively and in doing so, come to understand more about themselves and the great world around them. In addition to this, our hope is that many students will come to understand that art is a means to many valid career options and in turn will pursue post-High School educational opportunities.
The arts are such an important part of a student's education. Please help us keep the Art program alive!
