Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Keep students organized! This year I have gotten rid of student's desks and got tables. My goal is to make my classroom a home away from home for the students. I want to create a place where they feel safe and can show their creativity, a place where they can feel successful.
My 3rd grade students are ambitious and ready to learn.
They deserve a chance to feel successful and to have a safe place to go. Our school is almost 100% free and reduced lunch. We are very close to hitting the 100% mark. Our students are often not taught organizational skills and the importance of respecting property. They enjoy seeing me get excited about making our classroom a safe, organized environment to learn in. All of these students deserve to have this type of environment and I want to ensure they get that.
My Project
Warm, inviting classrooms begin with the classroom's layout. The arrangement of tables, working space, studentâÂÂs work on bulletin boards, the organization of materials and the materials the students keep at their seats is very important. Right now our students do not have a place to keep all of their materials. I find that students work better in cooperative groups; therefore, we have tables in our classroom. The only problem is there is nowhere for students to put their materials. Students will be able to organize their materials and understand how important it is to respect their belongings and the belongings of others.
I truly believe it is important to teach children organizational skills.
These chairback buddies will give students an opportunity to organize their belongings and show responsibility. Giving students a sense of responsibility will make a difference in their lives in all that they do.
