Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are hardworking, curious, and eager to learn! They thrive in structured environments that help them stay on task and manage their time efficiently. Many of them are developing their independence and learning how to advocate for their own needs. With the right tools, they can become even more successful in taking ownership of their learning.

I am requesting timers and a set of red, yellow, and green cups to enhance time management and communication in my classroom.

Timers will help students stay accountable for their software practice time by ensuring they complete their work within a set period. This will help prevent distractions and encourage focus while allowing me to keep track of their progress.

Red, yellow, and green cups will provide students with an easy way to communicate their understanding without disrupting the class.

Green cup: "I'm good! I understand the task."

Yellow cup: "I have a question but can keep working."

Red cup: "I need help now!"

This simple system will allow me to quickly assess who needs assistance and provide targeted support.

By incorporating these tools, my students will develop essential skills like time management, self-regulation, and self-advocacy. The timers will ensure they make the most of their independent software practice time, while the cups will empower them to communicate their needs effectively.
