Help me give my students a quite learning space where I can help students take a break, defuse anger, and re-center. It will be used for prevention to deescalate emotions, or anxiety before one gets too overwhelmed.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These items will create a space to allow my students the opportunity to access a variety of tools and techniques to combat strong emotions and stress that prevent them from focusing on learning. In this space, children can gain a sense of safety, quiet, and grounding to regulate their emotions and mood. It help students to practice identifying feelings and emotions to better manage stress, self-regulate and control their impulses. A calming space can help reduce stress levels by promoting relaxation and creating a sense of peace. Improve mental health: A calm environment can positively impact mental health and allow students an opportunity to reset and focus. This is a vital aide for students who experience stress and anxiety, to support them in having a more successful learning experience.
