Help me give my students a great environment to learn and experience science. These are some of the necessities, especially the paper towels and wipes, for a clean and safe room for students to conduct experiments.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Dabush's classroom raised $193
This project is fully funded
My Students
I teach a group of students that are come from many different backgrounds. The school is a Title I school in which all students qualify for free lunch. Most of my students are recent immigrants and are English Language Learners. As they are still learning the necessary english vocabulary, I am able to help them understand scientific concepts by incorporating hands on activities and labs. Many have never had the opportunity to "do" science, and are excited about the idea of hands on lab activities.
My Project
Keeping a clean classroom helps students better feel comfortable to open up and to engage with the content. In addition, having supplies on hand makes completing lab work easy to clean up. This allows each new class to come into a room that is set up and ready for them, instead of a mess left over from a class before.
Bandages is a supply that I never thought I would need, until I had a student on the first day of school, within the first five minutes of class, ask for one.
I purchased a few boxes, and throughout the year they were used up. I had to resort to sending students to the nurse when they needed a bandage. Having bandages on hand would eliminate the loss of instructional time for students.
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
