With the copy paper, highlighters, snacks, and differentiated social studies and science workbooks, I've been able to create accessible, hands-on materials that meet the diverse needs of my English Language Learners and students with disabilities.\r\n\r\nThe additional supplies have allowed me to offer more individualized practice, highlight key concepts for clearer understanding, and provide consistent access to leveled resources that support every learner. As a result, students are more engaged, confident, and willing to participate—especially during social studies and science lessons where they can now better connect the content to real-world examples. Having snacks available has also helped improve focus and stamina throughout the day, ensuring that students are ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThanks to this project, my classroom environment feels more supportive, equitable, and empowering. Your generosity has helped remove barriers and given all students the tools they need to succeed. Thank you for making such a lasting difference.","fullyFundedDate":1758899039519,"projectUrl":"project/tools-for-success/9709855/","projectTitle":"Tools for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Perrina","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/g-perrina"},{"teacherId":2378839,"projectId":9134104,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our students were able to perform Shrek Jr. with confidence, clarity, and joy. The new wireless microphone system you funded ensured that every voice could be heard, from the smallest solo to the biggest ensemble number. For many of our students—especially those who are naturally shy—having their voices amplified gave them the courage to project, perform, and take pride in their hard work. What once might have been lost in a large auditorium was instead heard and celebrated by friends, family, and community.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for our students was realizing that their voices truly mattered. As soon as they put on the microphones, their energy shifted—they stood taller, sang louder, and performed with more confidence. For some of our younger and more hesitant performers, this was transformational: one student who rarely volunteered to speak in class was suddenly fearless on stage, knowing that the audience could hear her. Moments like that are why this technology is so powerful in an educational setting.\r\n\r\nBecause of you, our school musical became more than a performance—it became a celebration of growth, teamwork, and student voice. The microphones not only supported this production but will continue to empower our students in every performance to come. We are so grateful for your belief in our kids and in the arts.","fullyFundedDate":1744903259234,"projectUrl":"project/clear-voices-big-dreams-enhancing-midd/9134104/","projectTitle":"Clear Voices, Big Dreams: Enhancing Middle School Productions with Microphones","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hershey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2378839_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693579805859","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2378839"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_697","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1324,"numTeachers":90,"percentFrplEligible":87,"percentAsian":46,"percentBlack":0,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":39,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":69.8,"schoolId":697,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Junior High School 227 Edward Shallow on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Junior High School 227 Edward Shallow","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/jhs-227-edward-shallow/697"}
