My students need folders, notepads, tape and other materials to organize their portfolios. They are also experimenting with a variety of writing utensils such as pens, permanent markers, and dry-erase markers.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students consist of inner city children that come from low-income families, some are even homeless. As a teacher in an urban district, I work with four and five year-old students ranging in levels of development. I have several students with special needs (IEPs) that are currently mainstreamed into my general education classroom. One student in particular currently has a personal aide to help support her in her daily school-related tasks.
My student population consists of inner city children mainly coming from low income families.
We are a dual-language school where students learn English and Spanish. We are proud to be a national school of character!
My Project
My students have been working very hard all year learning the necessary skills to prepare them for Kindergarten. It is important that their work is organized efficiently so that they can take it home to keep at the end of the year. The folders and tabs are a wonderful way to ensure that each child has their own space to keep their work stored.
We are also experimenting with a variety of writing tools.
Students have used pencils, chalk and crayons but we would love to show them other tools such as ball park pens, highlighters and wipe off markers. This will expose students to a variety of ways they can write. The notepads would be a wonderful place for students to practice their writing skills.
We use packing tape to create a 'laminating effect' to enable students to trace and wipe off. This is a wonderful way for students to practice writing skills! The materials I am requesting would be a great help to keeping our classroom organized as well as exposing my students to a variety of writing tools.
