My Students
My students come from low economic backgrounds where more than ninety percent of the students come from immigrant parents who migrated to the United States. My school is a place filled with possibilities and dreams because my students will be first generation college bound. My students are the physical representations of those dreams that their migrate parents had of coming to the United States for a better life through the education system. As a physical education teacher who teaches, team sports, individual/dual sports and comprehensive sports, I work towards building my students awareness of health and fitness through engaging activities that build their self-esteem and help promote healthy lifestyle choices. My students are eager to learn and the school serves as a safe haven for all students.
My Project
By having lysol spray and lysol wipes students will be able to utilize sports equipment and remain safe by being able to wipe down in between transitioning from one equipment to the next. The students will also be able to use gloves in order to keep their hands from passing germs from one student to the next. Also when conducting the ASPEN Fitness Assessment the gloves will serve as a skin protectant when doing skin fold assessment. The first-aid kit is used for 350 students and will be beneficial considering that my student population is about 350 students, so this resource will serve to help with the limited resources that we have at the school.
