This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This fall, I’ll be teaching eighteen, energetic, amazing and fabulous first graders in an urban PreK-8th grade school. One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch and many of them come from families that are living well below the poverty line. They are all so special because they always come to school with smiles on their faces, eager and ready to learn, no matter what the circumstances, especially during these trying times. That type of enthusiasm and willingness to learn inspires me to do and want more for them.
My Project
The Dyson Ball Vacuum cleaner will be used to keep our brand new carpet fresh, clean, and ready to start the day, EVERY DAY!
We all want to be safe!
By using the vacuum to clean our carpet every day, we can cut down on some of the dust, germs, and allergens that carpets tend to attract. Our carpet will be used ALL THE TIME, so it's important to make sure it stays as clean as possible when we sit down. The students will also have fun being able to vacuum the carpet when it's their turn to be the "custodian" of our classroom!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
